Cathy Khoonsrivong holds a Bachelors in Music Therapy from University of the Pacific in Stockton, CA. She completed her internship with In Harmony Music Therapy Services, now known as The Pacific Resiliency Center, where she worked with a variety of clientele ranging from pediatric and adolescents with varying diagnosis to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Cathy is elligible to take the board certification exam to become a practicing broad certified music therapist. In addition, she intends to further her education with additional training and certifications in the near future.
Cathy's internship clinical hours consisted of training at Service First of Northern California, The Taylor Family Foundation's Camp Arroyo, and Shriner's Hospital for Children. She has worked with a variety of populations including, but not limited to, pediatric burn, children grief and bereavement, children with intellectual and developmental disabilities, adult day programs, and retirement homes.
Aside from music therapy, Cathy has a diverse set of extracurricular interests. She was a part of the Tiger Aquatics Swim Team for over four years and the Lincoln High School Badminton Team for three years. As a musician of over 19 years, when not practicing music in her craft as a board elligible music therapist, she enjoys playing and teaching viola and piano. She has worked as an office assistant for Karen Sanchez at the In Harmony Music Therapy Services since 2014, while managing her own Etsy shop, CKBowsBoutique. Lastly, she enjoys spending her time doing arts and crafts and loves to travel, having explored Cambodia, Thailand, Laos, Arizona, Utah, Connecticut and Colorado in the past few years alone.
